During this weekend's annual American Championship, Lukas and Ed gave a demonstration of their skills in a specially organised 'International Grandmaster Enclosure'. They were delighted to take part in this excellent spectacle and impressed the crowds with some formidable performances. Between them, they exceeded the national record-standard in three of the five disciplines. Ed happily explained to local high school children how he'd managed to memorize a 210 digit number in five minutes. Meanwhile, Lukas showed no annoyance at the single error which had cost him the 45-second memorization of a shuffled deck of cards that would have made him 'the fastest person on the continent'. The honour passed to Ed with his 'sedentary', if correct, memorization in 1 minute 22 seconds.
