Who are we?

Edward Cooke

After graduating from the University of Oxford with a first-class degree in Psychology and Philosophy, Ed moved to Paris to conduct scientific research into consciousness at the famous laboratories of J.K. O’Regan. On top of his ongoing interest in developing educational techniques, he is currently trying to invent a new colour. He is an experienced mental athlete, a Grand-Master of memory and currently stands 12th  in the world-rankings.  He has given talks at the Universities of Paris, Princeton and Oxford and is, like Lukas, one of the  founding members of the international mind-society, the KL7. Among his various media commitments, he is to be the subject of a documentary film by the director Jonathan Lowndes. His first book, ‘The Art of Introspection’, is due out next year.

Lukas Amsuess

Lukas is one of only three people in the history of mind-sport to have broken the 'magic' 40-second barrier for the memorization of a shuffled deck of 52 cards. He was world champion in this event in 2002, the year he became a Grandmaster of Memory. He holds the world record for learning binary digits in the 60-second sprint (154 ones and noughts in random order!) and has been six times Austrian Male Champion in memory. He has lectured widely at schools around his native Austria and is much sought after as an after-dinner speaker. He is a founding member and treasurer to the KL7, an international society for the development of education. His pamphlets on educational techniques (e.g How to be Three Times Cleverer than your IQ) have been much circulated at the University of Vienna.
